2008 - THE YEAR OF KATH BLOOM

Here are some significant years in Connecticut folksinger Kath Bloom's life.

1976 - Kath met avant-garde guitarist Loren Mazzacane Connors in New Haven CT and the two began to collaborate.

1981 - her first album Hanford, Bloom, Mazzacane was released on Loren's Daggett Records label.

1984 - her and Loren's last album together, Moonlight, was released.

1995 - Kath's song Come Here was included in Richard Linklater's film Before Sunrise, which set her up for lifetime cult status.

2005 - her album Finally was released on Chapter Music.

But 2008 is truly the year of Kath Bloom. Her new studio album Terror is out in Australia in June (and available to preorder now - see below). Later in the year, you can expect a tribute album to Kath's songwriting featuring tracks by Bill Callahan, Mark Kozelek, Josephine Foster, The Concretes and many more, and the reissue of four of Kath's original albums with Loren Connors, namely Sand In My Shoe, Sing The Children Over, Restless Faithful Desperate and Moonlight.
